About Me

Gill qualified as a speech and language therapist in 1994 having trained in Cardiff. She has worked in various NHS speech and language therapy roles, most recently as an advanced clinical specialist, and in leadership roles. Gill has extensive experience writing and delivering training packages to schools and pre-school settings and is an experienced Elkan tutor. In 2022 she ‘took the plunge’ into independent practice. Gill has experience in a range of different speech, language and communication difficulties including developmental language disorder, speech sound difficulties and social communication and interaction difficulties.

Gill’s approach is friendly, straightforward, easy to understand and realistic, aiming to build mutual trust with the children and families. She feels passionately that parents, carers and pre-school/teaching staff hold the key to unlocking children’s communication potential. She therefore strives to empower key adults in their life to support them, by developing their knowledge and confidence in how to support speech and language development through sharing her knowledge and experience with them. Gill is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and a Member of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice
