About Me
Zoe is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has a wealth of experience, across the life span, offering therapeutic support to alleviate psychological distress.
Zoe completed her Doctorate training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Liverpool following a 12-month specialist placement in CAMHS and Paediatric Psychology in 2009. Prior to this Zoe completed an MSc in Applied Psychology at The University of Manchester (2006) and a 2:1 hons in her BSc Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University (2004).
Following qualification, Zoe spent the next 6 years working within a CAMHS team supporting children, young people and families with a range of mental health difficulties. As part of this role Zoe also worked within a Paediatric Psychology team supporting children and young people with a range of psychical health difficulties which included, Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis and HIV. Zoe has also worked within Birmingham Children’s Hospital as part of the Paediatric Psychology Team supporting children, young people and their families who are on Intensive Care Units or long-term rehabilitation wards.
Zoe has experience of working with young people who have been admitted to in-patient services due to an eating disorder and those families who are seeking assessments to understand their children’s behaviours within the context of an Autistic Spectrum Condition. Cognitive Assessments are also part of Zoe’s skill set which she has competed to understand a young person’s thinking and reasoning skills and as part of Medico-Legal work.
Zoe provides a safe space, where children and young people can experience a supportive and collaborative approach, which draws upon a range of models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Zoe is a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC, PYL 24596) and registered with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP, 060189).
