About Me
Dr Vibhav Shetty is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist – a medical doctor, trained and specialising in assessment and management of children and young people with mental health disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr Shetty has over 20 years of working in the NHS in London and Kent. He has worked as a NHS Consultant since 2014 and provided medical leadership to teams. He has been a trainer and medical educator for several years for Health Education England, Royal College of Psychiatrists and Kings Medical school. He is a GMC-approved trainer for higher specialist trainees (training to become Consultants). His trainees have included nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, medical students, paediatricians and psychiatrists.
Dr Shetty completed his specialist training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Royal London Hospital. He had the opportunity to closely observe and learn from clinics at specialist centres such as the Social Communication Disorders Clinic in London. He has over 15 years of experience of completing neurodevelopmental disorders assessments.
Dr Shetty’s special interest is assessment and management of children and young people with neurodevelopmental assessments, tic disorders and sleep disorders. He also has a special interest in considering the impact of lifestyle (diet, sleep, activity, social media) on health. He has also published several articles on the above and many other relevant topics. His current private practice is based in Kent, UK.
Dr Shetty is an experienced supervisor and is committed to care that is child-centred and compassionate. He provides regular supervision to psychology colleagues following their ADHD assessments at CAYP to help think together about the reason for their presenting problems and appropriate management strategies
