About Me

Holly has worked as a qualified Clinical Psychologist since 2017 and has experience supporting young people with psychological and emotional difficulties. She has particular interest and experience in supporting children, young people and their families. Since she qualified, Holly has worked for Manchester NHS Foundation Trust in a specialist perinatal and infant mental health service, supporting children under the age of 5 and their families to promote optimum psychological development, well-being, relationships and attachment. Holly enjoys working collaboratively with parents and caregivers to build on their strengths and confidence using her knowledge of child development and behaviour. Holly is able to offer support to families either virtually or at the Whitefield Clinic.

Holly gained a first class honours degree in Psychology from the University of Manchester in 2011, as well as a Masters in Clinical and Health Psychology in 2012, before training on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2014 at the same University. Throughout these degrees Holly focused her research on service users’ experience, and has a passion for understanding and optimising the experience of therapy. Holly has published research on the experience of therapy for postnatal depression.

Prior to training as a Clinical Psychologist, Holly worked with children who were Looked After in Care. She developed an understanding of, and interest in, supporting children with social and emotional difficulties as well as supporting those who cared for them.

Holly has additional training in the Incredible Years Preschool and Baby Parent Programmes and is also an accredited Video Interaction Guidance practitioner. She also has an additional certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is trained to use a variety of therapeutic models such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Psychodynamic Interpersonal Therapy (PIT).

Holly is a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC; PYL34834)
