About Me
Emily is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working in mental health, primarily within NHS services. She has worked with people across the lifespan, from infancy to older adulthood, and has developed a particular specialism in supporting children, young people, and their families. Her experience encompasses supporting parents, including through the perinatal period, the challenges of parenting young children and teenagers, navigating anxiety, self-criticism, and relationship difficulties. She offers support to children and young people with a range of emotional and relational difficulties including anxiety, self-criticism, low mood, attachment-related concerns, and family stress. She also works with individuals around identity, resilience, and understanding the impact of early life experiences on present-day challenges.
Emily brings warmth, openness and thoughtfulness to her work, and places high value on creating a non-judgemental, safe therapeutic space. She is committed to co-creating a collaborative relationship where clients feel heard, empowered and actively involved in shaping the direction of therapy. She welcomes feedback and ideas to ensure the work is meaningful and responsive to your needs.
Emily’s approach is integrative, drawing on a range of therapeutic models including Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Systemic and Attachment-based approaches, drawing on Psychodynamic ideas. She is particularly interested in how early relational experiences shape our sense of self and emotional wellbeing, and how supporting safe, connected relationships can foster wellbeing throughout life.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Emily is trained in neurodevelopmental assessments, including cognitive, Autism (ASD), and ADHD assessments. Emily is deeply committed to understanding behaviour and emotional experience through the lens of relationships, context and personal histories, including traumas.
Outside of work, Emily finds balance through connecting with nature. She enjoys hiking, skiing, camping, and outdoor swimming—especially in the mountains and by the water.
