About Me

Elene has worked in the NHS since 2001, and as a qualified Clinical Psychologist since 2006. Elene has 17 years’ experience of working in the NHS specialising in child and adolescent mental health. During this time Elene has gained extensive experience in working with children, young people, siblings and parents to address a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. Elene has particular expertise in working with eating disorders, anxiety and phobias, low mood, and physical health conditions. Elene is currently employed by Devon Partnership NHS Trust as Clinical Lead for a service for young people with eating disorders. Elene has training in a wide range of therapeutic approaches including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Family Therapy; and attachment-based therapies; and uses these in an integrative way as needed.

Elene completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Cardiff, and graduated in 2001. She then worked as a support worker for adults with a wide range of mental health difficulties, then as an assistant psychologist with older adults before quickly obtaining a place to undertake a doctorate training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Cardiff in 2003. During this training Elene developed a passion for working with children and young people, and undertook a specialist placement with children with complex physical health conditions. After qualification Elene went on to work with children and young people with a range of physical health, psychological and emotional difficulties in a health setting. Elene started working in a child and adolescent mental health service in 2017, specialising in supporting children and young people with complex needs and a wide range of mental health difficulties, including specialising in supporting young people with eating disorders.

Elene is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC PYL20742).
