About Me

Dr Daniel Weisberg is a highly-specialised clinical psychologist and the managing director of CAYP Psychology, the UK’s largest independent clinical psychology service for Children, Adolescents, and Young People.

Daniel worked for NHS services for over ten years. He has substantial experience of working with children, adolescents and young people experiencing health, social, emotional and psychological difficulties.

After he qualified as a clinical psychologist, he worked within Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust for Children’s Psychological Services. He then moved to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and worked within the Paediatric Psychosocial Department. Daniel specialised in paediatric neuropsychology, a highly specialised area of clinical psychology that aims to understand how children’s brains relate to their learning, behaviour and development. He worked closely with children and families who are living with neurological health conditions, genetic disorders, metabolic diseases and other health conditions.

Daniel obtained his undergraduate psychology degree at the University of Birmingham (2007) and completed his PhD investigating children’s understanding and experience of regret and relief (2011). During his PhD, he published work in international peer-reviewed academic journals and presented his work at national and international conferences, including in Oxford, Nottingham, Birmingham, Denver, Las Vegas, Granada and Budapest. Daniel worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner for the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) rollout (2012) for two years. Daniel then went on to complete his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Manchester (2015), with specialist placements across Manchester and the North West, whilst developing a specialist interest in paediatric neuropsychology. Daniel also worked extremely closely with the clinical research services in genomic medicine. He provided significant contribution to local, national, and worldwide clinical trails in understanding the neuropsychological profiles of children living with Lysosomal Storage Diseases and rare genetic disorders. His research and publication file is detailed here: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Daniel-Weisberg-2.

Daniel founded CAYP Psychology in March 2016. It has since grown into an award-winning, highly sought-after psychological healthcare service for Children, Adolescents and Young People across the UK and online. CAYP Psychology currently has a team of 82 highly qualified clinical psychologists and clinicians, spread across 33 UK-wide clinics and online. He is based in the CAYP Psychology head office in Whitefield, Manchester.

Daniel is a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, PYL32317) and a registered member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists (ACP-UK, 134130).
