About Me

Serena is a trained Clinical Psychologist (Neuropsychology Curriculum) with many years of experience working with children and adults with complex needs within the NHS, schools and respite services.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Sciences and Techniques in 2008, she completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2011. She undertook her clinical training at the Institute Tolman, School of Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapy in Palermo (Italy).

She subsequently completed additional training in the UK, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and Systemic Practice in mental health.

Serena has been recognised as a fully qualified Clinical Psychologist in the UK, and she is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Currently, Serena is working in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) providing specialist assessment and treatment for children and young people who have a diagnosis of learning disability and present with mental health needs and behaviour that challenges. Specifically, she is working with children and young people who display behaviours of concern (behaviours that express unmet needs) as well as with those who present with varying degrees of psychological and psychiatric difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis.

Serena values people and their uniqueness. Her approach is always person-centred and the strategies used are tailored to the child’s presentation and needs. This includes systemic therapy principles and cognitive behavioural therapy approaches in the interventions she uses.

Developing productive working relationships with children, young people and their families is one of Serena’s strengths and it is an essential part of the work she does. Her aim is to share a common goal: Improving children’s quality of life.

Serena is mainly available on Fridays. Her appointments are online and face-to-face in Ealing.
