About Me

Sarah began working as a trainee psychologist in Her Majesty’s Prison Service. She spent nine years working for Her Majesty’s Prison Service (HMPS) providing psychological assessment and treatment to high risk offenders. Sarah qualified as a forensic psychologist in 2003. Sarah left HMPS in 2007 in order to practice in more clinical-focused settings.

She spent seven years working for private healthcare organisations (Cygnet Healthcare and Cambian Healthcare), providing assessment and treatment to adult inpatients with severe and enduring mental health problems on psychiatric rehabilitation wards. Sarah also spent four years working for Midlands Psychology CIC who at the time held the autism contract for South Staffordshire. Sarah completed autism assessments for children and their families across Staffordshire. Alongside this Sarah led on the ‘Ten-19’ contract with Staffordshire’s Youth Offending Service which provided mental health support and treatment to the young people being supported by the Youth Offending Team.

More recently Sarah has been working with Looked After Children in Staffordshire and Shropshire, providing consultation, assessment and treatment within trauma-informed children’s residential homes. Sarah also works as an Expert Witness in Criminal Proceedings. Sarah has extensive experience of conducting a variety of specialist assessments including cognitive and autism assessments.

Sarah completed her undergraduate degree at Buckingham University in 1996, and went on to complete a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Psychology at Oxford Brookes University the following year. Sarah then completed a Masters degree in Forensic Psychology in 1999 at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Sarah is a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC, PYL05409)
