About Me
Sarah is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist working within a secure mental health service for children. Sarah was bought into the service to connect the professional systems and improve the outcomes for the children. She is passionate about children’s voices being heard and providing effective, timely services.
During Sarah’s completion of her doctorate, she confirmed her affinity for families and their struggles knowing immediately she wanted to become an expert in young people and their families. With over a decade of experience as a Clinical Psychologist, Sarah has honed her skills in many areas including early years, specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), specialist assessments, looked after children, secure services and high needs, high risk provisions. Ultimately, Sarah loves working with families and individuals connecting them to their strengths and developing skills and tools. Sarah utilises evidence based practice to provide assessments, formulations, therapy, consultation and/ or supervision. Sarah has developed helped to develop CAMH services under the children’s and young people’s Increased Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) government initiative. Sarah hopes to connect with you and support you on your journey. For a number of years, Sarah has worked within private services alongside her NHS role. She has a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents, Systemic Psychotherapy and Family Therapy, attachment-based therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative therapy. Sarah is an avid reader and utilises many apps and podcasts were appropriate in her work, allowing people to work on their mental health and well-being without it feeling too much like work alongside her highly specialist therapy skills. She has enjoyed further training since her doctorate and continues to build her expertise.Professional Qualifications
