About Me
Nedah is a clinical psychologist with a specialist interest in working with children, young people and their families. Nedah has 13 years’ experience of working in NHS mental health services; she completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2017 at the University of East London.
Nedah is passionate about considering individual hopes and expectations for support and working within a psychologically informed formulation approach. Nedah has supported children and young people who have experienced low mood, worries and anxiety, stress, overwhelming emotions (this may, on the surface, present as behaviours that challenge, anger or self-harming behaviour) and healing from harmful and difficult life experiences. Nedah also works with parents and carers to support their understanding of their child’s needs and to support the parent-child relationship.
Nedah seeks to understand a child/young person’s needs and the difficulties being experienced by considering what they have experienced in their life and what is happening around them including at school and home as well as social and cultural influences. Nedah works integratively and she uses a range of approaches to support her work with children, young people and their families including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Systemic Approaches, Mentalisation Based Approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Dialectic Behavioural Therapy.
Nedah also has experience in supporting children’s residential homes through psychology consultations and training.
