About Me
Najma holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is currently a Principal Clinical Psychologist within the NHS. She has worked in the NHS for over 13 years, during which time she has taken leading roles in both inpatient and community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience of working with children and adolescents who present with a range of social, emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties. This experience, alongside her passion for a neuro-affirmative approach has led her to specialise in supporting neurodiverse children and adolescents, including those with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Najma draws upon her specialist knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive Cognitive and Autism assessments. She is trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule- Version 2 (ADOS-2), the gold standard in regards to conducting Autism assessments and has significant experience of contributing to Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) processes.
Najma also has substantial specialist training in a range of therapies, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Systemic Family Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). She is passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based psychological therapies and approaches. This additional training in a range of therapeutic models ensures she can effectively and expertly meet the needs of the individuals she works with.
Throughout all areas of her work, Najma prides herself on putting others at ease and in her ability to build a strong therapeutic relationship with others.
Najma is available to offer virtual and face to face appointments in the West Midlands.
Najma is a registered practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professionals Council (PYL33777).
