About Me
Katie is a qualified Clinical Psychologist and has extensive experience of working with children, young people and adults across the lifespan.
Katie has 11 years’ experience working in the NHS, specialising in paediatric psychology since qualifying as Clinical Psychologist. This involves working with people with visible difference and appearance concerns and the emotional and psychological impact this may have. Katie also works to support young people and parents who are adjusting to health conditions and the impact this may have on themselves and their lives. Katie is passionate about her work with parents and enjoys working with parents alone or alongside their child.
Additionally, Katie has lots of experience in completing cognitive assessments with young people and is passionate about ensuring that these assessments are a useful tool to inform recommendations for families and systems around the child, such as their school.
Prior to qualifying as a psychologist, Katie worked in CAMHS eating disorder services both in the NHS and private healthcare, as well as working with children with medically unexplained symptoms (MUS).
Katie works within a systemic framework with young people and families ensuring that psychological formulation is at the centre of the work to help develop a shared understanding of the current difficulties. Katie also uses Narrative therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her work.
Katie is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) PLY33542.
