About Me

Amber has worked with children, young people and families across a range of NHS settings in physical health teams, schools (including specialist schools) and mental health services. Most recently she has supported with the development of Trainee Clinical Psychologists in her role as lecturer and clinical tutor on a clinical psychology training programme alongside running a small private practice for children, young people and families. Amber has a specialist interest in supporting children experiencing anxiety and who may need support to adjust to a new, or pre-existing, health condition.

Amber has a research interests in building self-esteem in children and co-production, the latter of which she has published in. She has developed and delivered a breadth of workshops and lectures in areas such as attachment, historical overview of learning disabilities and bereavement. Alongside her doctorate in clinical psychology, Amber has further qualifications in Systemic and Family Therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy interventions and supervising the clinical work of others.

At CAYP Psychology, Amber primarily offers cognitive assessments which supports with developing an in-depth understanding of a child’s cognitive strengths and areas that may be more challenging. Such assessments allow for recommendations and appropriate support to be put in place at school, home or other settings.

Amber is registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist (PYL37406)
